Solar Street Light and Its Composition
We are always looking for clean and renewable energy sources to rapidly change the lighting environment of the world today. Solar energy is one of the best forms of renewable energy available today. In today’s society where fossil fuels are decreasing day by day, solar energy has become an important part of people’s energy use. We are fortunate to be able to use the solar radiation entering the society to the surface of the earth to realize the direct conversion of solar radiation energy to photothermal, photoelectric and photochemical. One of the popular devices currently utilizing solar energy is the solar street light.
Our common traditional street lights are easy to understand. What are the differences between solar street lights and traditional street lights? What other parts are there? The solar street light consists of LED light source (including drive), battery, solar panel, intelligent controller, support arm and various auxiliary materials.
In order to ensure the quality of LED light source patches, we usually use Bridgelux 5050 LED lamp beads, whose lifespan can be as high as 50000H. In order to ensure the heat dissipation of the lamp, the lamp shell is formed by one-time die-casting of cold-rolled plate, so that the lamp has a longer service life.
The main material of solar light panels is crystalline silicon, including monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon. What is the difference between the two? In terms of production cost, polycrystalline silicon is cheaper than monocrystalline silicon solar cells, the material is simple to manufacture, power consumption is saved, and the total production cost is lower, so it has been greatly developed. However, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of polycrystalline silicon solar cells is much lower, and the photoelectric conversion efficiency is about 12%.
At present, there are three types of batteries on the market: 12V or 24V colloidal lead-acid batteries, 3.7V ternary lithium batteries, and 3.2V lithium iron phosphate batteries. The colloidal lead-acid battery is mainly buried underground, the discharge depth can only reach about 50%, the volume is large, the transportation cost is also high, and the service life is short; we usually recommend using a 3.2V lithium iron phosphate battery, which is cost-effective and has a long service life. long.
Also, the light pole and the arm are the points that everyone is more concerned about. In order to meet the lighting needs of rural towns and outdoor seasides, we generally do the overall hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion treatment on the light poles to ensure a service life of more than 20 years. Usually, the height of Integrated all-in-one solar light poles is about 5-8 meters, and the wall thickness is about 5-8 meters. At 2.5-3.5mm, design the color or pattern according to actual needs.
Compared with traditional street lights, what are the advantages of solar street lights?
1. Longer service life
Good solar panels last at least 25 years, they also happen to use less energy and last much longer than incandescent bulbs. making it the most durable lighting solution available.
2. High efficiency
Solar panels absorb sunlight during the day and store the absorbed energy. At night, the lighting can be maintained all night. Super high efficiency. It uses very little energy while producing brighter light. Compared with ordinary incandescent lamps, the energy consumption of LEDs is reduced by about 90%.
3. Low maintenance
Because it is a one-time investment, it is negligible for electricity bills. Due to the materials used in the lamp, we have few problems. So maintenance costs are low. The average lifespan of LEDs is 7 years if used continuously and uninterruptedly. However, since they use less power and last longer, this does mean that LED lights are much cheaper to operate than conventional lighting in the long run.
4. Safety
Traditional lighting systems use electrical energy, which can sometimes prove dangerous. Sometimes a break or tear can occur due to the passage of a large amount of current, thus giving a person an electric shock. But solar street lights can eliminate this problem.
